Recently, Gamer Limit’s Kevin Miller reported that Infinity Ward would not allow dedicated servers for their latest title, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (PC). In his article he shows that over 33,000 gamers are not happy with this decision, now that figure has tripled in size.

Zipper Interactive seem astounded by the decision made by Infinity Ward. They state when speaking to DigitalFoundary, dedicated servers do a whole lot more good than bad. Check out what they said after the jump!

ABC has reported that “too much time playing video games may leave children with wrist and finger pain,” at least according to a survey conducted by a rheumatologist and his fifth grade son.

I have experienced this pain myself on at least one occasion.  When Snake was crawling down a microwave tunnel in MGS4, I had to mash a button for 3 minutes straight.  Hit the jump for more information on this half-assed report.

After 15 long years, Konami has decided to remake the Sega Mega Drive classic Rocket Knight for the Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Steam. Originally released in 1993, this remake will feature updated graphics (seen above), although no other updates have been specified just yet.

Demigod, the first in the recent wave of DotA inspirations, looks doomed to spiral down the path of extinction. Recent server population statistics show that there rarely are more than a 1000 players online at any given time, and to make matters worse… it’s averaging less then 40 games being played at its peak times.

Transmission Games

In a recent development, it has been revealed that Transmission Games, a popular Australian studio based in Melbourne, has shut its doors.

Kotaku Australia has reported that, after losing several lucrative publishing contracts, the firm was forced to lay off more staff. Today, the studio shut its doors, with all workers being made redundant.

Halo fans, still enjoying bragging rights, have recently been given more goodies to feed their addiction. Halo Waypoint, a central destination for all things Halo, has been detailed in full.

Previously announced over the summer, Halo Waypoint, developed by 343 Studios, Microsoft, and Certain Affinity, will provide Xbox Live Gold and Silver members a one-stop-shop for all things Halo starting November 5th. INVERSION

Today developer Saber Interactive, most known for TimeShift, announced INVERSION, a new shooter that features “a revolutionary gravity manipulation engine.”

Currently in development for the PS3 and Xbox 360, INVERSION promises gravity bending co-op action. According to publisher Namco Bandai, gamers can expect the physics filled fun to arrive in 2010.

As October starts coming to a close, one thing tends to be on every one’s mind, Halloween. This spooky holiday also seems to have NCsoft captivated . The developer/producer is planning Halloween themed events across all six of its active Western titles.

The world of Guild Wars will see the return of the Mad King Thorn. Lineage II players are going to have to deal with Scarecrow Jack. Gamers who are still playing the first Lineage will be treated to a costume party. The City of Heroes is going to have to unite against a Halloween Apocalypse. The Mechnaughts of Exteel are getting a spooky orange and purple paint scheme. In NCsoft’s newest title Aion, the Asmodians will host a Wild hunt, where as the Elyos have to stave off a zombie invasion.

Through very careful scientific research, the Japanese videogame marketing community examined and recorded two women playing the recently released Ninja Gaiden 2 and upcoming title Bayonetta.  The results will leave you dumbfounded.
