For those that have gotten tired of boycotting, and have pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2, enjoy what will surely be nothing more than a tease. Valve has announced that demo pre-loading is now available.

“The early access to the L4D2 demo is open to both retail and Steam customers on both the PC and Xbox 360. Those who pre-ordered via retail should be able to pick up their early access codes now and be ready to play the demo on Tuesday.”

Michael Pachter’s job is to predict the future of the video games industry, which entails making sweeping accusations that usually cause quite a stir.  As a guest on the most recent episode of Game Trailers’ Bonus Round, he kept his hot streak going with a new prediction that stunned everyone.  Apparently his crystal ball has informed him Xbox Live will eventually cost $100 a year.

Pachter bases this assumption on the fact the Xbox 360 has become deeply entrenched as the main online console for many gamers around the world.  With Microsoft’s hooks deep into us, these people would have no other choice buy to pay the money if the price went up.  Well I’m here to completely disagree with that statement, because I think increasing the yearly cost of Xbox Live could be the absolute worst thing for the system. uncharted_2_preview

Uncharted 2 has been out for two weeks now, and for a lot of us, that sadly means you’ve probably finished the adventure as well. Well not to worry, as Naughty Dog has confirmed that both free and paid DLC will be available for players before the end of the year is out!

No details are available just yet, but creative director Amy Hennig hints at the possibility of new maps and possibly new characters as well.

Two new DotA inspired characters have just arrived in the Heroes of Newerth Beta: Vindicator, inspired by DotA’s Silencer, and Rampage, inspired by DotA’s Spiritbreaker, bringing the amount of playable characters up to 55.

This leaves 5 left until we get a full roster!

The official trophy list for the Playstaton 3 version of Assassin’s Creed 2 has just been released for all the trophy whores/hunters out there. The majority of them look fairly easy, although getting all of the hidden blades, item pouches, and armour upgrades for Ezio may prove to be quite difficult. While the Xbox360 achievement list has not been announced just yet, presumably it should be the same idea.

Read on for the full list.

If you have yet to take a quick look at October 22′s PSN Store update, Trine is currently available for purchase in North America. Earlier this year, when we had a look at the fiendishly handsome title, we found the game to be…well, fiendishly handsome.

limitcast-header2

The first series of holiday releases have descended upon us, and we used almost all of last week’s podcast talking about them.  Well, play time is over and it’s time to throw around another heavy topic.

The release of Demon’s Souls has highlighted a glaring lack of challenge in today’s core gaming scene.  And we want to know why that is.  We’ve decided to suplex the monster topic of difficulty in gaming in it’s entirety. Read more… »

plants-vs-zombies1

Plants and zombies make perfect costumes for this year’s trick-or-treaters.  On the other hand, a sale for our beloved Popcap game is a fantastic nightcap for “All Hallows Eve.”

In celebration of Halloween, two our favorite digital distributors are having a frightening sale.  Can you guess who’s selling Plants vs Zombies for a ghastly low price? Read more… »

Ubisoft has confirmed that James Cameron’s Avatar will be coming out on December 1st in the US. The title will be available for the Xbox360, PC, PS3, Wii, DS, and PSP, or basically, every single platform that the developers thought could possibly run the title. Only time will tell if this multi-platform approach will come at the cost of a quality experience.

Additionally, this release date also means that people will be able to experience Avatar a full two weeks before it hits the movie-screens.

The charmingly named WarDevil: Unleash the Beast Within – yep, don’t be expecting sunshine and lollipops in Digi-Guys’ inaugural title – has had its details very coyly guarded following its 2004 technical teaser clip. For years the game’s official website featured little but a static image of its protagonist, until recently when glorious screenshots began to emerge from its dreary netherworld.

What we do know is that the game will be a 3rd-person hack-and-slash adventure set in the distant, post-apocalyptic future – lovely! Hit the jump to find out more!

If you’ve never played Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 before, you probably won’t ever want to pick it up after you watch this video: in fact, a lot of people will probably want to stop playing it after all of the infinite combos make you feel like a scrub.

This particular video features Justin Wong as Pink Storm at Seasons Beatings 4 in Columbus Ohio. If anyone’s wondering, the comeback starts around 1:40, when the crowd starts going wild. While I never won any big tournaments, there’s nothing quite like participating in them amidst a large roaring crowd!

Everyone likes an original concept. Everyone likes Tim Schafer. I mean, who wouldn’t? This is the guy who brought us some of the most classic adventures from the 90s. He gave us Psychonauts. He’s an all around nice guy, and we enjoyed talking to him about Brutal Legend earlier this year, amongst other things.

What seems to have occurred, sadly, is that poor Tim decided he was sick of making amazing games that the general public avoided and decided to create something accessible. What actually happened was a complete mess of marketing and hype; a tale of selling something that didn’t exist.
