Today the Entertainment Consumers Association, a non-profit organization involved with gamers’ rights, announced that it has formed a new group called the “Gamers for Digital Rights.” This group will focus on providing “tools and resources that will help protect the rights of video game consumers today.”
ECA VP Jennifer Mercurio stated, “Digital rights are an extremely important and timely subject for everyone who buys and enjoys entertainment, but especially for those who purchase and play video games.”

Oh no. You thought you had heard the last of him, but apparently not. The ever popular ex-attorney Jack Thompson is back to sue those who dare to defy his belligerent beliefs, but this time it’s Facebook that has been unfortunate enough to fall victim to his incessant preaching.
His new found vendetta against the social networking giant stemmed as a result of messages that were found on the site which caused him “great harm and distress,” and he has subsequently filed a law suit of $40 million. Groups such as “Jack Thompson should be smacked across the face with an Atari 2600” were great sources of ammunition.
Oh Jack, you make the Internet so much more invigorating.

In what must be the most substantial Store update to date, this week sees the launch of the PSP Go, and with it comes a slew of downloadable content ready for consumption straight out of the box. As a result, this week’s update is overwhelmed with PSP content, with a whole host of full games and the introduction of “Minis,” which are bite sized mortals of fun.
For those who are more PS3 adept, Sony hasn’t forgotten about you as there are a number of playable demos, including Need For Speed: Shift and the rocking Brutal Legend, along with special offers and further downloadable content such as the Watchman costume pack for LittleBigPlanet.

The Madden franchise, over 21 years and running, has been the most successful football sim to date. With the recent release of Madden NFL 10, gamers have been sucked in, once again, to the most addicting Madden yet.
Gamer Limit was given the opportunity to interview one of the many reasons behind Madden’s continued success. EA Tiburon’s Creative Director, Ian Cummings, recently took time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us.

It has been roughly six months since Resident Evil 5 hit consoles, and it has been a long and enduring wait for many PC enthusiasts. Through various media outlets, we’ve heard tales of the grandeur the game possesses, but we’ve never been given the chance to appease our fingers to the delight of the PC version until now.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Tekken is one of the biggest fighting franchises out there. With Tekken 6 hitting Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PSP this October the advertising is already heating up.
