Back when Gamer Limit was at E3, we reported that Microsoft was integrating Facebook and Twitter into the Xbox 360′s NXE. Well, it’s finally dated for UK gamers: everyone else will just have to sit tight!

Now that we know that social integration is on the horizon, how many of you will actually use it? My 360 is ten feet from my PC, and I’m too lazy to hook up another keyboard to my console, so that pretty much tells you what I think of it. In fact, the only two demographics I can see benefiting from this addition are youngsters who aren’t allowed on the family computer, or troubled youths who are “grounded” from using Facebook/Twitter. Oops! You better hope your parents don’t see this news update!

Bluuuuuuuuur THUNDER!
By: | October 11th, 2009

So I’ve been following a bit if Blur coverage, but I had no idea it was basically Hydro Thunder on wheels. Ok, so it might actually have more in common with Wipeout in the sense that Blur is favoring neon super-charged futuristic weaponry and visuals, but hey, I can dream!

Does anyone think this game stands a chance? Or is it just going to be Midnight Club with powerups?

It must be tough to be a Chinese gamer.  After having every game with a gangster in it getting banned back in July, their terrific communist government strikes again: on October 1, the Chinese government launched a campaign to eliminate illegally operated games featuring content they deem “unhealthy.”

So far, over 200 games have been investigated, and forty-five have been straight-up banned.  Many more were given a time limit in which to clean up their acts.  Apparently, they were operating from outside China without prior approval.  And that, in the eyes of the Chinese government, is a no-no.

Nostalgia, the soon-to-be-released steampunk RPG from Ignition, has a new trailer!  And it’s pretty.

Well, it’s as pretty as a steampunk RPG on the Nintendo DS can manage.  It actually looks like it shares a lot of character models with the recent Final Fantasy III and IV remakes…

But whatever.  New IP’s are always cool.  Check it out.

This week’s beta patch for Heroes of Newerth introduced the latest character to the ever growing hero roster. Sand Wraith is pretty much a straight up port of DOTAs Spectre… except  the gender, and obviously the model have been changed.

Check out the skill set after the break!

Well, it looks like Ultimate Alliance 2 is starting to roll out it’s line of downloadable characters! Cletus Cassidy, aka Carnage, is set to be the first add-on character in Activision’s new epic brawler.

Personally, I always found Carnage’s appearances on the relatively cheeky Spider-Man TV Show pretty disturbing. I mean, the guy murders his whole family, and is constantly threatening to kill everyone he meets with some sort of sharp-edged arm weapon: that’s a little heavy in comparison to your typical “Pinky and the Brain” diabolical Spider-Man villain. Either way, you can bet we’ll give you the lowdown on any sort of release date, and feel free to check out our Ultimate Alliance 2 review right here.

It’s no secret that Resident Evil 5 has been a huge smash worldwide.  As of the latest sales figures, the game has sold over five million copies globally making it the most successful game in the series.  Being the most popular Resident Evil title, there are undoubtedly many new players to the franchise, as well as many returning veterans.

Hither to, Resident Evil 5 is undoubtedly a great game in of itself, but as the next installment in the long standing series, many fans feel the game has departed from the survival horror genre.  Thus, it begs the question: what has Capcom changed so much over the years to abandon its roots? Read on to find out more. Read more… »

Taito is at it again: as if you couldn’t get enough shmups, Darius Burst is hitting PSPs on December 24th in Japan. Honestly, the graphics are looking pretty slick, and the trailer shows a good balance between mild bullet hell and power-up based combat.

For more information on the shoot ‘em up genre (shmup), feel free to check out one of our past articles!
