Ever heard of PlaySEGA?  I hadn’t either, until like five minutes ago.  Apparently, it’s this new (still in beta) browser-based service that lets you play old SEGA games!

The catch: you have to pay for a subscription.  The good news:  it’s only $14.95 for three months, and you get this sweet controller with your paid subscription.  Where do I sign up?

[Join Christopher Matulich and Chris Carter, as they both review Fallout 3's Operation: Anchorage pack for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Chris M's review was written months ago when the DLC dropped on the 360, and Chris Carter's is brand new. Intro by Christopher Matulich.]

Operation: Anchorage, set during the liberation of Alaska shortly before the nuclear fallout that shapes Fallout 3, has officially been available to the public for over 72 hours. Aside from my hardware problems, I had Operation: Anchorage up and running with a character fresh out of the vault.

I quickly entered Megaton and massacred the town for the measly amount of weapons, ammo and armor to hopefully be able to fend for myself against the Super Mutant Brutes attacking the Outcast’s base. Read more… »

EA releases new C&C 4 screenshots
By: | October 13th, 2009

image-o-matic 1

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Command & Conquer 4. Last we reported, EA was looking for fan input on unit names. Today EA sent out nine new screenshots showcasing the new post-apocalyptic setting, as well as some units and effects.

I have to say, before checking out these images I was skeptical of a post-apocalyptic C&C game. Now that I’ve seen them, I am nothing but excited. All the units look incredibly detailed. The landscape is barren, but not lacking in character. The weapon effects all look unique enough to make identifying them on the fly easy.  All in all, I think that C&C 4 is shaping up nicely. But enough of my impressions.

Hit the jump to check out the screenshots. While you’re at it, let us know what you think be leaving a comment below.

Well, the headline doesn’t exactly paint an accurate picture of what they actually said. Daily Star, in fact, believes that the night-vision goggles gamers get from the Prestige Edition will encourage ‘pervy’ behaviour. Apparently it’s the ‘it’ item in gaming right now that’ll turn gamers into the Peeping Toms of tomorrow.

We hate tabloids, but this one seems to top lists with claims that “…geeky computer game fans are set to become an army of ogling pervs thanks to a giveaway of night-vision goggles.” Head inside to find the atrocities committed on innocent Modern Warfare 2 bystanders. Read more… »

Join Josh Quinnett, Chase Cook, and Chris Carter as they make yet another attempt to mount the treacherous summit of gaming culture – this time without the guidance of their friendly sherpa, Paul Clark.

Despite being down a member, the guys managed to attack a horrendous beast of a topic this week: “The Causes and Effects of Overhype.”

Also listen in for some in-depth discussion regarding Demon’s Souls – a title that has captured, and subsequently infuriated every attending member of the cast (except for Chris Carter, self-proclaimed “Demon’s Souls Guardian Angel”).

PSPgo White

After the Playstation Portable’s first dismal year on the market, I don’t think many people expected it to ever have any sort of serious impact on the industry.  However, here we are five years later and Sony has just released the fourth and probably most significant version of the system: the PSPgo.

What makes this new portable gaming machine so important is that it marks the very first time a game company has released a device based solely off of digital distribution.  Making history doesn’t matter though if the system is badly designed with poor controls.  This begs the question, does the PSPgo deliver as a pure gaming machine, or should it be left on store shelves to sit and collect dust?
