Electronic Arts has officially announced that Mass Effect 2 will be launching in North America on January 26th, with the European release coming three days later on the 29th. In addition, they have also posted details about the pre-order bonuses for the game, which will come in the form of special armor suits for your characters.
Unfortunately, no information has been given to indicate whether a collector’s edition will be released, but something tells me Bioware has something special up their sleeve. At least there is a firm release date, so we can all start planning to take that day off work/school.
Read on to find out more about the Mass Effect 2 pre-order bonuses and to see some new images from the game.

Inferno Armor
Pre-ordering the game from GameStop will score you the Terminus Assault Armor, which provides bonuses for run speed, damage, shields, and extra ammo. In addition you also receive the M-90 Blackstorm, a heavy weapon which generates a localized gravity well that’s gauranteed to help decimate your enemies.
If you are not a fan of GameStop, or you don’t have one in your area, pre-ordering the game from any other store will grant you the Inferno Armor, which boosts your negotiation skills, run speed, and combat damage.
While I’m not usually a big fan of pre-ordering games, I have to admit that these are pretty awesome bonuses. I think I might have to head on down to my local GameStop and drop $5 on Mass Effect 2 today, because the Terminus Assault Armor and M-90 sound extremely cool.
So who else is excited about these pre-order bonuses?

I blogged about this only because how excited I am. Can’t wait!
Aw man, now I gotta change my pants. I’ll definitely be preordering this tomorrow.
@ Christopher
Me too mate. I have not got a lot of money but hell, screw anything else I am pre-ordering this.
Also I think if you pre ordered dragon age origins there is some type of tie in special armor for ME2 as well. Red Dragon armor or some such.
@Karkarov
Yeah, if you pre-order Dragon Age Origins you can get the Blood Dragon Armor for ME2.
