I want the original sound tracks back, and the 3D animation is just vain. I think the developer would have done much better to just preserve all the graphics and music and focused on creating new maps, new levels, maybe new planets and definitely more plot.

What the reviewer doesn't get is that this game has excellent level design, which is the reason that it is getting remade for every new console generation.

After the first few battles, which serve as a tutorial, every new battle has its own unique approach that has to be discovered to win it.

Keep up this kind of brilliance for 100 levels (in the original game), and you'll get a genre classic. This this is one of the very few games that has NEVER been missing from my hard disk.

Yea I tried it! I haven't had time to get into it, and I'm surprised I forgot to mention SC above as one of the modern strategy gems.

Yea, I'm finding it increasingly harder to get back in strategy games. They're all I used to play (KKnD, Total Annihilation, Command and Conquer 1+on, Warcraft 1+on), but now I feel like there's too many on the market, if you count Tower Defense and DotA gametypes.

It's a shame that such an interesting idea has to come across as so crummy. I think I'll safely pass this title up. Great Review Simon!
