Tainted by lies and deception, Borderlands is on the brink of joining a league of rough starts. Since its cross platform release (PC, Xbox 360 and PS3) there have been reports that the game has failed to record a handful of players’ stats and gear online.
And although this has only hit a select few of unlucky individuals for reasons unknown, it is something that has been reported on each of its three platforms. Well, the people have spoken, but have the Gods answered?
In response to players’ complaints, Gearbox has responded quickly.
“Your report has been heard and we’re working on it. Unfortunately there isn’t a fix just yet, but when one is available we hope to be able to repair as much of your character data as possible.”
While this isn’t exactly what players want to hear, it’s at least comforting to know that the developers have heard the complaints and are working diligently to fix these bugs. Nonetheless, the game has been receiving positive criticsm from journalists across the globe despite its set backs.

It’s an excellent game though: I’m loving the 360 version.

The problem is, 2K seem to enter into these ridiculous distribution and publishing deals which scatters their releases. It’s absolutely absurd to have 4 release dates – one in the US for consoles, one in the UK/AU for consoles, one in the US for PC, another in the UK/AU for PC.
Why not co-ordinate a global release for all of them? Almost every other publisher is able to do it.

I haven’t experienced this, and have been playing since midnight day one with a couple of different people, who also experienced no problems. But this is sad news for such a fantastic game.

Just finished the game…all of my gear and even the ability to have 4 weapons on hand…gone. Disappeared. Killed the final boss, and everything I picked up on the way there, all of my class mods, even my artifacts…lame.
