Remember when I posted the news story about Amanita Design’s indie adventure game Machinarium? Sure you do.
Today Amanita Design released a 35MB demo of the indie puzzler.
To find out my impressions of the demo, hit the jump.
First off, let me say that I have played though the entire demo and enjoyed it thoroughly. The game sticks to the classic adventure game convention of finding and combining items to get past obstacles. While all the puzzles included in the demo are pretty straight forward, they are challenging enough to make you pause and think about what you’re doing.
Even if you’re not a fan of adventure games, I’d recommend checking this demo out. The visuals alone warrant a download. I was instantly captivated by the game as soon as the main menu came up. A sprawling dystopian robot city rises out of a devastated landscape. The image is both stunningly beautiful and heartbreakingly bleak.
In order to get your hands on the demo, hit up your favorite download site. I was able to snag it off of fileshack with little to no wait.
