Gamer Limit Banner

Well folks, it seems like we’ve gotten our hands on 10 PSN Shatter codes, and we’re making it relatively easy to win them! All you have to do is comment below what your favorite shooter is: it doesn’t even have to be a shoot ‘em up, it could even be a full blown action game like Uncharted 2! Gamer Limit staff will randomly choose 10 entries: so have at it!

The only catch is these codes expire on October 21st (Midnight, American): so we’re only opening the contest for 24 hours, and after that, we’ll get those codes out to you as soon as possible so you can redeem them!

If you’ve never played the game, feel free to check out our glowing review right here.

Terms and Conditions:
1) The winners will be selected by the Gamer Limit Staff in 24 hours from Monday, October 19th, at 10:30AM EST.
2) You must register an account (we need to be able to find your email).
3) This is a digital copy, no box provided.
4) No staff participation, but feel free to post an opinion
5) You must have a US PSN account (if you’re outside the US, you can easily make one to redeem it)

  1. I’ll start things off: my favorite shooter would probably have to be Resident Evil 5. Mercenaries is just too fun.

  2. I’m keeping it old school with Gradius. That game is epic.

  3. Left 4 Dead. Co-op play online is one of the funnest gaming experiences I’ve had with the 360. Good times, good times.

  4. I wouldn’t be surprised if my favorite game with shooting in it turns out to be Borderlands (I suppose you can call that a shooter?). But for now, I have to go with Blood from back in the day. I have no idea how it would hold up today, but man that game was great way back when.

I’m going with the Half-Life series. Half-Life presented us with a completely new way of storytelling in shooters and video games in general. The gameplay is amazingly paced and you actually care about the characters and story.

    I’ll go with Fallout 3 :)

Posted on altarenppy the OSU campus wide lost and found is in McCracken. i went in there once. i dont think anything is ever found there. only lost.

  7. I’m going to list my favorite shooter in the shoot ‘em up genre, which is easily Einhander.

I still own my original PS1 copy, which I play at least once a year. What a great game! Squaresoft needs to get to work on creating a PS3 sequel. :-)

  8. Ikaruga for me. So many frustrated hours and yet oh so much fun!

  9. Cho Aniki, hands down. I’m not sure what’s more weird, the visuals or the controls, but these games are the best shmup fun I’ve ever had.

  10. My favourite shooter is Lylat Wars / Star Fox 64.

I spent many nights sitting there perfecting my routes, learning when targets would appear and in which order. I’d rank in the high scores and obtain those shiny gold medals, though I never did manage to score enough points in that underwater level.

I can remember my first time entering Area 6 and becoming overwhelmed by the swarm of enemies. I thought that was hard, but little did I know that evil doer Star Wolf would make a second appearance in an advanced ship. With no comrades left, all four Star Wolf members shot from behind. I twisted and turned, performed the famous barrel roll a hundred times over, until I eventually defeated the galactic scum. But no, I had only just begun – Andross laid waiting in his underground fortress.

I entered his lair as I had done dozens of times before. He tried to suck me into his mouth and chew my arwing to bits. I held onto the brake and kept my footing. He began to shoot lightning at me. “Nice try” I whispered to myself as I disintegrated his hands. The flesh melted from his face and as I shot down his robotic form, I became shocked when he revealed his true form. “Holy shit!” I exclaimed as I dodged his eyes. With a couple of twists and turns and I managed to destroy them. Oh but it was not over yet; this beast followed me around and grabbed hold of my arwing with these tactical things. He tore my wings apart, surely I was a goner. He grabbed hold of me a few more times, my health bar was nearly depleted, and then by some twist of fate I managed to blow up his lobes.

As he tumbled to the black pit of darkness he cursed my name. I laughed thinking “hahaha, serves you right”. My relief turned to despair however, I discovered I was in grave danger as his lair crumbled. But what was this? A ghost from the past? Fox’s dad guided me to the exit, it was such an inspiring moment. As I made my final leap into space and re-grouped with the Great Fox, I watched the fireworks display below. Was Fox hallucinating, or was it truly James Mcload’s ghost? I guess I’ll never know, but one thing was for certain, that had to be one of the most exciting moments I have ever had with a game.

I’d have to pass on with you here. Which is not steiohmng I usually do! I really like reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to speak my mind!

  11. Mental Knight, that was awesome.

    • avatar Cinbiy

Thx for your awesome tuailotrs! :D They have helped me solo much! >I think any of these tuailotrs would be great, but I also think you should definitely do a mini-tut on Music & Sound anyway. That is a main problem that I have wondering about, and if I can memorize how to do it, I’ll be golden. :) Thx again!

  12. I’ll go with Ikaruga. It’s nice to add a liitle puzzle gameplay to a shmup

  13. For me I think it would be Perfect Dark on the N64. The weapons were so much fun and having the secondary function (which I am sure was the 1st first person shooter to have this) ensured there was such a variety of different ways to kill your foes.

The bots for the multiplayer were great fun too, four of your mates get a Dark sim into the mix and it really is a survival mission, lots of laptop guns as I remember does the trick.

    Space Invaders of course! :D

  15. Contra: Shattered Soldier
After two lousy Contra titles for the PS Konami finally took the helm and made one of the best modernized 2-D classics.

Also, beating the whole game with one life is rather epic

  16. Well I don’t have Uncharted 2 yet, but so far Uncharted: DF is definitely my favorite shooter. A close second being Geometry Wars 2. :p

  17. Shooter McGavin is my favourite shooter. After all, it’s his tour this year.

Also, is there something wrong with me when my brain automatically reads the headline as “24 Hour Monday Giveaway – Shatner!”?

  18. avatar Qalamari

I’m gonna have to go with Choplifter. I still can waste hours with that one.

  19. I have 600+ hours on TF2 on 360, So i think I’ll go with that…

  20. My favorite shooter? Quake 3 Arena. One of my first multiplayer shooter expierience and still a nice and fast game.

  21. Was Americas Army(Also a mod for another game. I forget what that was though) until I got back into console gaming…

krdnea326 on September 4, 2011 I just had a baby girl about a month ago and so I love that they offer beautiful organic burp cloths. The bubblegum chocolate mouse colors are absolutely adorable. I love that their products are organic because we are a green family as much as we can be.

  22. avatar naia

I haven’t played too many shooters, so I’m going to have to go with Bioshock. I loved the story and the plasmids helped make it more than just a typical shooter

  23. God I fail, and can’t read instructions

  24. Uncharted 2, the game is so fantastic :)

  25. avatar HotPocketNinja

Zombie Apocalypse it’s non-stop shooting, specially 7days of hell. It’s my favorite psn game. I don’t have any favorite disc format game.

I just registered, but my comment is there lol.

  27. Surprised nobody’s said Rez yet. O_o I guess I’ll throw it out there!

  28. Condemned 2
…I just love hitting people in the face with prosthetic limbs, what can I say?…there’s shooting in that game too.

  29. avatar netguy503

favorite shooter is RE5. Hopefully in the generations to come more shooters will use an online co op campaign like this one. It was nearly flawless.

P.S. Make the upcoming “Director’s Cut” DLC and not a retail game Capcom for the win!!!

Hey! Congrats for your amazing tiltruaos! :) Sometimes the player passes through the platforms. Maybe you can explain in the future how to fix that. I think that issue with the collisions is something import.I also had some problem with the background (wich the position wasn’t the same as the collision walls), also with the parallax I had the same problem everything out of the place every time I wanted to experiment the game. I put some trees in front of the player and firstly they were flying everywhere :) I voted on the coins because would love to learn how to make a Super Mario kind of game, with places to fall, etc.

I love the two of her under the greenery and her legs cseosrd so much personality and the last one is lovely, the blue really brings out her eyes! Great work!

  30. Not that good at shooters, but I would have to say my favorite is Uncharted 2. I suck at it but can’t put it down once started. Racking me up some kills, that is of course me dying in the game.

  31. I think my favorite Shooter is Psi Ops, though I liked the Psi powers more then I liked the shooting.

Its soo much more fun to throw an bad guy into an exploding barrel and send him flying with TK then to just shoot the barrel.

  32. I would say my favorite shooter has to be the Raindow Six series. Sweet action non stop.

  33. My favorite first person shooter of all time is Goldeneye (N64). My brothers and I played that game for hundreds of hours.

  34. avatar Priddo

if it’s not Goldeneye or Perfect Dark you’re wrong.

  35. avatar Rayk2099

    Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
