I definitely agree to that. As for a more subjective opinion, I just don't care much either way; I didn't like Street Fighter 4 very much, so I may give it a try if it's $30 or cheaper. I definitely prefer this over "Oh well, let's do Street Fighter 5", though.

Otherwise, I don't really know why they can't do a DLC update, but a lot of really important people at Capcom-Unity's forums read and answer questions on the message board. If you really wanna know the truth for yourself, that's a good place to start.

@Jamie
I read the article and know they said that but I remain skeptical. This isn't replacing the game engine, or the graphics, so on so forth. It is gameplay tweaks and new characters. Bear in mind I don't support this type of release when it is Tekken or Virtua Fighter either. Hopefully the price ends up being reasonable and it becomes a moot point.

I fail to understand why Japanese developers disregard the simple concept of free update patches. Don't want this game. Do want Street Fighter Third Impact on PSN/XBLA

If you read the gamespot article, you can see that they thought about it and tried it, but it wound up that they couldn't.

I can't say this news is leaving a good impression. It is going to ride heavily on what they mean exactly when they say "less than full retail price". For all I know that could be 50 dollars. This could have been done easily with a few downloadable patches and DLC.

I wonder why only Capcom gets such a bad rep for this when Sega does it with Virtua Fighter, Namco does it with Tekken, and Arc System Works does it (a lot) with Guilty Gear, and now even BlazBlue. At least Capcom is going to sell the game for less than full retail price, which is more than I can say for other devs that do this.

Personally, I appreciate this more, because now we'll get one extremely excellent, expertly fine-tuned, masterfully crafted game as opposed to the Vs. series games, which are all pretty broken.

That being said, I don't like Street Fighter 4 very much, but I also didn't like Guilty Gear XX either until GGXX Slash came out. So, here's hoping this is the update that sells me on the game.

Capcom really kept it cool in terms of producing fully retail "updates" on their existing games, and I loved them for it.

For years now, we've been given true sequels like "Marvel Vs. Capcom 2", "SNK 2", and other such gems: now I see they're up to their old tricks again. When will it end?

I'm not sure why I am shocked to hear this news, but I definitely am. I remember joking around with friends when SF4 came out that there would eventually be a Super Street Fighter 4, but I didn't honestly think Capcom would do that again. I should have known better.

What's next? Super Street Fighter 4 Turbo: Championship Edition!
