PSP (no)GO

psp-go

EB Games Australia has joined a growing list of retailers refusing to carry the PSP GO, in a move most will recall as having its roots with Dutch retailer, Nedgame.

Both retailers have cited the higher price, lack of trade-in on games, and lack of games on the shelf amongst a number of reasons for their decision.

GT5 logo

In a quite frankly disappointing announcement, Gran Turismo 5′s release date for Japan has been announced during Sony’s Tokyo Game Show conference for March 2010.

We were previously led to believe that it would be released by the end of this year, presumably for a Christmas release – in fact it quite clearly stated in a printed advertisement at the GamesCom event that GT5 would be with us Q4 2009. I can only imagine the glum faces of the attendees.

So there you go, GT5 once again feels far out of reach just as I was starting to get excited, but at least we have a more concrete release date to savour. But then American and European release dates have yet to be announced, so we can only hope that there will be a worldwide release.

Second Life

It appears that the virtual world can be just as pricey as reality if you want to have the very best in Second Life. Linden Lab, developer of the extremely popular MMO, has released specific information regarding in-game sales figures, stating that gamers have spent over $1 billion in “digital goods”.

But Linden Lab didn’t stop there; the developer also claimed that their title has “the largest virtual economy in the industry”, and that they are seeing $50 million every month in user-to-user spending.

Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing

The only thing faster than Sonic is the speed at which his latest games make it from the shelves and into bargain bins the world over. But somehow I always manage to muster up a degree of nostalgia-fuelled optimism when Sega announces that the blue critter will be making yet another appearance on our consoles.

Following in the footsteps – or rather tyre marks – of the ultra successful Mario Kart, it appears Sega wants a slice of the mascot-based carting pie. And, dare I say it; their latest hedgehog-filled slice of gaming pie is actually looking rather delicious – as Gamer Limit brings you the latest screens from the upcoming Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing.
