"most of them increase in health as the level progresses without any indicator to determine that its actually stronger."

Clearly you didn't listen to the AI helper - your 'pre warning' radar indicates the strength, grteen=weak, yellow=medium, red=tough. So you do have the chance to plan your defense based on the strength of the enemy, if you take the time to do it.

"Unfortunately, the aforementioned “shortest path” isn’t always clear. Some maps are extremely large and contain multiple intersecting routes: it can often be difficult to determine exactly which course the enemy will take."

Yes, you do have to use your brain. That's not a bad thing!

"On more than one occasion, I found my enemies taking a route I hadn’t even considered..."

And who's fault is that???

@Chase C, Yes, they always take the shortest route. It is not hard, with a little thought, to predict which way they will go.

It is quite a fun game, give it a try.

Great review Josh!

If every enemy takes the shortest path to each power core, do they ultimately end up taking the same path every time you play a map?
