Just a few short months after BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger‘s stateside release, the newest issue of the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has announced an upgrade-sequel to the original game. As the title of the article mentions, it will be called BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, and if you just so happen to be on vacation in Akihabara, Japan in three days, you can take part in the location test!

Continuum Shift Features:
- Two new characters! One has been announced publicly so far: Her name is Tsubaki Yayoi, a character reportedly designed to be easy to use for beginners – something that BlazBlue could really use.
- Old characters are receiving new moves!
- New stages, and the old stages are being redone.
- New HUD graphics.
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is set to hit Japanese arcades this winter, and will eventually see a release on Playstation 3/XBox360. There have been no announcements about a US release thus far, but stay tuned for more news on the newest installment of BlazBlue!
