Well, we already told you that Game Crazy was closing a great deal of their stores, but the following interesting tidbit has just presented itself.

While it’s always sad news when a company closes its doors, there is an upside. Gamers can expect to see some major savings starting this Saturday, Oct. 3.

For all the details, hit the jump.

The closing stores have been ordered to redistribute all consoles and recently released games to the remaining Game Crazy establishments. The products that don’t get redistributed will be discounted as such:

  • 10/3-10/11: 30% off everything in the store
  • 10/12-10/18: 50% off everything in the store
  • 10/19-Closing: 80% off everything in the store

At this time there is no official list of which stores are closing, so be sure to call a head before running out this weekend.

  1. Wow, now those are bargains. I’ll have to see if there are any Game Crazy stores in the area.

  2. I plan on driving 20+ miles to a Game Crazy I know is closing this Saturday. Definitely going to snag a couple new titles (NHL 10, Batman, MLB 09 The Show).

  3. Wow great deals for anyone near a closing store. Now I feel like a douche for wishing there WAS one near me going out of business.

Thought you might be interested in this – just rceieved from Pat at Best:I am very sorry indeed to have to tell you that, very shortly, BEST will be dropping its Fiive Minue Fiction page, and no longer accepting short stories for consideration. A small number, already set aside, are up for a second reading – and may make into print before the axe falls – however, as I don’t know which will be approved, or exactly when we will stop, I am not identifying these, as I don’t want to raise false hopes. I can tell you that the story which I am returning herewith is NOT under consideration, so you are free to submit it elsewhere. And I can assure you that any stories in the ‘possible’ pile will get a response, either way, within the next six weeks. Please note that we cannot change existing, ‘in print elsewhere’ guidelines for Fiction submissions to BEST, which might, if ypu come across them after reading this, imply that we are ‘back in business’ for Fiction. However, this message that you are reading now supercedes any such entries in Writers & Artists yearbook, etc. We are, sadly, not going to print any more fiction. In closing, I would like to thank you for your past submissions, whether successful or not. They have been the lifeblood of a sectionn I have gained enormous pleasure from editing. I shall miss it as much as I know you will. Kindest regards, Pat Richardson
