Thanks to a recent interview with GamerTrailers TV, a whole slew of new information regarding Valve’s games has come out.
Pertaining to Left 4 Dead 2, Valve revealed a new campaign set in “Whispering Oaks” amusement park. Gamers can expect to be scared pantsless thanks to creepy old carnival rides and zombies rushing out of the mist. Valve also revealed a new melee weapon, the katana.
In regards to Team fortress 2, fans will be pleased to hear that Valve’s comics based on the characters from the team based shooter are under way. According to Valve co-founder and managing director Gabe Newell, popular comic book artist Michael Avon Oeming has been signed on. Gabe said, “[Oeming is] teaching us about what it means to have a character and do character development in a comic format, how you do storytelling.”
Gabe continued: “The reason we’re doing it is… that we think that’s where our customers already are. They’re saying ‘Figure this out, don’t… license it to somebody else. You’re the people who understand the property and we’re fans of you, so you have to figure out how to make the movies, the TV shows and the comic books.’”
When posed with the question, “Do you imagine a day when you could have a Team Fortress 2 movie or TV show?” Gabe replied “Yes, absolutely.”
