Starcraft II

Internet petitions may not have helped curb incoming censorship laws in several countries, but they apparently still serve a purpose in the gaming world. Since Blizzard’s Rob Pardo announced in June that StarCraft II will not be supporting LAN, fans have been trying in vain to change the developer’s mind.

The LAN in StarCraft II Please petition has surpassed 100,000 signatures. Hit the jump to find out more.

While most comments are straightforward and humble in content, several signatories are already castigating Blizzard as petty money-grabbers for forcing gamers to use Battle.net for their multiplayer engagements.

Blizzard claims that they will not support LAN to “ensure a quality multiplayer experience with StarCraft II and safeguard against piracy.” And while 100,000 signatures is a fair number to deal with, it is but a drop in Blizzard’s anticipated ocean of sales numbers.

Starcraft II has been delayed until 2010, so there is still plenty of time to add your John Hancock to the cause.

  1. Let’s be fair. LAN or not, these people will still buy it, and Blizzard know it.

  2. Nice Grindhouse reference – haha!
