Genesis Poll Banner

In honor of the twenty-year anniversary of the Sega Genesis, Sega is giving the power back to its players.  That is, it’s holding a poll to determine which classic Genesis title will be re-released on Xbox Live Arcade next.

See the choices and learn where to vote after the jump!

The titles you can choose from are:

  • Earthworm Jim
  • Golden Axe II
  • Shining Force
  • Revenge of Shinobi
  • Streets of Rage
  • Toejam & Earl
  • Wonderboy

Just head on over to and pick which title you want to see brought back to life with achievements.  You can vote once a day from August 14 through August 21, so you can either pile the votes onto your favorite title, or you can spread the love across a few different games.

Check the polling site on August 22 to see which game won.  I’m pulling for Wonderboy, just because everyone loves an underdog.  If you’ve never heard of it, a bit of Wonderboy history can be found here.

Vote wisely!  Sega is listening.

  1. I went with Earthworm Jim – as did just about everyone else, it seems. So it seems likely we’ll have Earthworm Jim on XBLA before too long. Awesome.

  2. I swear I’ll never get that Moonwalker remake.

  3. Streets of Rage with online co-op? C’mon guys think about it!!

  4. I remember Toejam & Earl being a blast too though. My friend had it and we used to play it all the time.

    Grahame, i second that ultimately!

any famous classic scroll fighting game with improve graphic and online (and offline) co-op will keep me wasting my time happily.

  6. Shining Force…obviously.

    Then Earthworm Jim.

  7. Silly people, get Shining Force! It hasn’t been on any of the Sega compilations in favor of the inferior Phantasy Star, and the actual cart is so expensive that this would be the only way many people would be able to ever afford playing it.

Also, Earthworm Jim’s 2-hour game < Shining Force’s 30 hours of gameplay. And they’re both going to be $10 anyway. Why not get the better deal and better game?

But yes, Jim is a strong second.
