It’s always nice to walk into a games store and see that a title you have wanted to purchase – but just never had the cash to – is on sale. Even better is when it is added to the platinum selection.
Well, Sony has just announced that two more popular titles will be added to Playstation 3′s Greatest Hits arsenal: Saints Row 2 and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw. Hit the jump to find out more.
We all know that money is tight these days, and with gaming such a necessity for the majority of us, it’s only fair that we should ask for cheaper gaming options from time to time.
Saints Row 2 and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw have been huge commercial successes, and are sure to find an even bigger market after their Greatest Hits release. They are set to join an already favorable list of platinum titles including:
- Assassin’s Creed
- Battlefield: Bad Company
- Burnout Paradise
- Devil May Cry 4
- Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
- Metal Gear Solid 4
- Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
- Virtua Fighter 5
…just to name a few.
With the current economic debacle, we are certain to see plenty more titles switch to platinum, and not just on the Playstation 3.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but these are not two games that I want to see added to the PS3 Greatest Hits list. How about adding Uncharted or Call of Duty 4.
I swear if Call of Duty 4 is not a “Greatest hits” game, I don’t know what is.
Ummm Shawn, Uncharted already has Platinum status, and if it doesn’t then I want to know why my copy is in a silver BD case with platinum emblazed all over it!
Your right about COD4 btw, but I bet it doesnt get platinum status until well after the 2nd one has been released. Still too many people playing it.
@Chris: I have checked, and I can’t find any place in the US that sells “Greatest Hits” copies of Uncharted. I’ve also looked for a full list of all of the current Greatest Hits PS3 games, and Uncharted is not on it.
Does anyone else know if Uncharted has obtained Breatest Hits status. I can’t find any proof of this.

Uncharted has achieved “Platinum” status in Europe, which is our version of North America’s Greatest Hits range.
I’m guessing this is what Chris B is referring to. As for a NA Greatest Hits release for Uncharted, I’m not aware of any.
@Graham: Well then, that makes perfect sense.
Uncharted isn’t on the list probably because it is sold with the console as a package, and they don’t want the game to lose it’s value.
Uncharted is 100% on the Greatest Hits for PS3 in Canada and USA.. check BESTBUY because I bought uncharted and mgs4 for $40 together.. it should be 60 but BestBuy had 2 greatest hits for 40 dollars for a few days and i took advantage of it.
I quit being interested in WWE games for some time mainly because I got into UFC.
