At the Blizzcon ’09 opening ceremonies today, the 4th Diablo III class was announced: The Monk. So far details on this new class are scarce, as the only information that has been shown came in the form of a story and gameplay trailer.
To find out more information about what little is known about the class, and to watch footage of the first gameplay video, hit the jump.
It looks like the Monk will be back to punching and kicking his way through thousands upon thousands of demons when Diablo III finally launches. The gameplay video, debuted today at the opening ceremonies, show this martial arts expert tearing monsters apart with his bear hands as he quickly jumps from one enemy to the next. From what I could tell, many of his signature moves from Diablo 2 seem to be returning, but Blizzard is sure to include brand new ones to spice things up.
To see The Monk in action check out the video posted below. Make sure to stay tuned to Gamer Limit as Blizzcon ’09 continues and more details about this new class become available.
They had a monk as one of the classes in the add-on to the original Diablo
@Austin
Yep! The Hellfire expansion, developed by Synergistic Software/Sierra.
I still have a copy of it lying around here somewhere. Picked it up in Target.
ok, so riddle me this… Blizz pushed D3 and SC2 back into 2010.. Yet they claim that they’ll still have a good Christmas lineup.. So what they hell are they going to release? Will they ninja D3 in, Throw a secret project at us like maybe reviving “Ghost”? Or are they just talking a good game so the stock doesn’t drop? I’m sure someone was forced to toss some salad over this one.. NO fall/christmas releases? OHH yeah… the offender probably had to follow someone to the mens room seconds after telling the board.
I’m intreged as to what they’ll have ready this year too, if they indeed claim they have a good release calendar.
@Komplex I’m curious where you had heard of them talking about a good lineup for Christmas..And was this said after they decided to push back SC2?
@Tyler, It was an IGN article:
