Yesterday Actvision announced that the long awaited Guitar Hero: Van Halen will arrive in time for the holidays on December 22. In celebration of this announcement, the full track list has been released.

Developed by Neversoft, GH:VH will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2. The rhythm game will follow the format of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero: Metallica. Long time Van Halen fans might be disappointed to find out that only current members of the band (Eddie Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Alex Van Halen and Wolfgang Van Halen) are playable. Former members Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Gary Cherone have been left out.

  1. I’m getting sick and tired of Activision flooding the market with music rhythm games. How many Guitar Hero games are coming out this year? I think it’s somewhere in the vacinity of 7 or 8.

  2. They do release a heck of a lot but we’re not forced to buy them are we?

The more of these they release then the more likely one will be there to suit your tastes. I’m not an Aerosmith fan but GH: Metallica was an instant purchase. So the more there is the more choice I have!

  3. I know what you mean, but I’m a huge Van Halen fan (Roth era). This will be the first GH game I get since 3.

  4. @Grahame: It is true that we are not forced to buy them, but at some point they could oversatuate the market to the point no one buys them anymore. Many retailers, like GameStop, already complain that music games take up too large a percentage of their shelf space. They have threatened to stop selling some of them.

It’s very disappointing to see that Activision doesn’t use the same model as Harmonix for devliering new music.

If they used the same model maybe we could get the good stuff. Go van hagar!
