In our upcoming interview with A2M’s Senior Games Designer, Avi Winkler stated that there may not be any future downloadable content (DLC) for their highly anticipated acrobatic-shooter, WET. Despite the increasing trend of both multiplayer modes and micro-transactions on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, A2M believes that these extensions may detract the game’s overall experience.
Hit the jump for the official word from our interview with A2M.
The following is an extract from a question answered by Avi:
There’s no DLC planned at this stage, all the content is already in the box. You unlock new play modes by finishing the storyline on any difficulty level.
While gamers may hope otherwise, it’s currently not in A2M’s playbook to extend Rubi’s gun-toting adventure. This could play out either way, but here’s hoping that Bethesda’s shooter has a true-to-Tarantino narrative up its single-player sleeve.
Keep an eye out for the interview early next week; where Avi, among other things, discusses why DLC for WET won’t be coming anytime soon.
I think that’s a good thing, you know with WET that what you’re buying is the full experience. No cynical holding back of content that could make the disc because you want to make a quick buck.
Just don’t let me down Avi and later tell us you’re releasing new guns for $3 a pop!
DLC>no DLC.
