EA Redwood Shores, or now more known as Visceral Games, decided to tell the world today that their sophomore console outing Dante’s Inferno has a tangible release date. The hack’n’slash action game, obviously inspired by titles such as Devil May Cry and God of War, will be arriving to your nearest stores February 9 in North America and February 12 in Europe.

Head inside to see what Visceral Games had to say at GamesCom.

The Divine Comedy is one of the most influential pieces of literature in the world and we have a great responsibility in re-imagining Dante Alighieri’s vivid descriptions of hell, and the themes of righteousness and redemption he explores,” said executive producer Jonathan Knight. “Our team is dedicated to delivering a stunning and highly polished interpretation of this classic to a new medium for a new generation everywhere this February.

Appropriately, tie-in products to Dante’s Inferno will be appearing later on this year. The Dead Space developers have ensured that the various contents, comic books and animated features of the hell-and-back adventure, will help to create a more wholesome world.

We’ll keep you informed as GamesCom progresses.
