God of War Collection

If you own a PS2 and have never played either of the first two God of War games, you should consider yourself a failure as a gamer.  These titles not only represent the pinnacle of PS2 game development, but they also created one of the most popular and feared characters in all of gaming: Kratos.  If you missed the chance to play them, you missed out on some of the best hack and slash action adventure gameplay ever created.

Luckily, Sony is not content leaving the God of War games to sit and collect dust in the PS2 catalog.  As of today they have announced they will be bringing the first two titles to the PS3, in one full HD collection.  Read on to find out more. Read more… »

The PSN garage is becoming continually clogged with waves of exclusive, cheap and cheerful racing games. Toy Home and GTI Club + were always the frontrunners, but now there’s another one with Smash Cars, a new RC racer from Creat Studios.

These games pride themselves on being both fun and accessible slices of low fat goodness, so how does Smash Cars fare after pulling up alongside its established neighbours? Read more… »

Faces Of The Angry Gamer

Gaming rage: we’ve all experienced it, or even recorded it. When we play games, we do it for fun, to cure boredom, or to simply blow off some steam. It’s when we start to get absorbed and begin to actually get good at the game a little voice triggers with every death, failed race, and missed jump. Although not audible, it mocks and urges us to either elegantly ignore it, or satisfy its needs.

The need to rage.

Extracting what Avi Winkler, Senior Games Designer at A2M, has spilled regarding their upcoming shooter WET, he says gamers shouldn’t dismiss it due to A2M’s family-friendly background. That said, we probably won’t. The Eliza Dushku-casted game is rated Mature (M), and as the demo proved, swearing is indeed part of the foray. The same goes for the buckets of blood.

Eyepet dated for PS3
By: Grahame | August 29th, 2009

eyepet cuteness

He kinda looks like Gizmo, is almost as cute and is invading your Playstation 3 this year. Sony’s Eyepet has the potential to be this year’s must have Christmas gift for younger gamers, tapping into the same market that made Nintendogs such a success for Nintendo. While I don’t fit into that demographic I still really want one, he’s just so damn cute!

Read on for the release date and the official trailer in all its sugar coated awesomeness.

art14 Tim Schafer: Psychonauts was inspired by my experiences with Ocarina of Time

In a recent interview with Tim Schafer, creative director of the upcoming Brütal Legend and high king of point and click adventure, we found out something extremely interesting in regards to his inspiration for his recent titles.

When asked about his recent shift from point and click adventure games to the action genre, he responded: ” I always follow what I’m inspired to do. In order to bring the world of album covers and epic music to life; you have to give the guy a broad axe [in reference to Brütal Legend], which requires an action game. As for Psychonauts, that was inspired by my experiences playing Ocarina of Time/Mario 64.”

Stay tuned for the full upcoming interview, as it contains tons of juicy tidbits on both Brütal Legend and Tim Schafer’s career as a designer!
