It’s quite interesting. Despite all of the hubaloo surrounding the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott, the pre-orders for Valve’s upcoming sequel are twice what they were this time last year.
Are you one of them?
There was some thought that with the boycott that this may not have been the case. However it looks like these boycotters are simply not strong enough to put off the allure of a new zombie apocalypse experience.
One of the interesting tidbits of information is that the community of players on the Xbox 360 are some of the strongest supporters even though they have received fewer features, and sales than the PC group.

The boycotters are a tiny, tiny minority. It is only because they are so incredibly and incessantly vocal about their objections to the game, that it may appear to be a larger constituency than it really is. They are few; they’re just really, really loud.
The few tens of thousands of people that seem to be dedicated to the boycott amount to little in the face of the millions of people that make up L4D2′s built-in audience.
