Yesterday publisher Top Cow announced that the comic book-based supernatural shooter The Darkness will receive a sequel sometime in the future.
Tentatively titled The Darkness 2, the new game is currently in development, but not with original developer Starbreeze Studios. StarBreeze CEO Johan Kristiansson stated, “I heard that there were talks about a Darkness sequel, but Starbreeze is not involved in anything like that right now. We are busy on two projects together with EA.”
As of right now, those are all the details. Hopefully Top Cow will send out a press release soon letting us know who is in charge of The Darkness 2 and when to expect it.

I really enjoyed the first game, but I hope they improve a lot over its controls and pacing… still, any game where I can impale people and eat their hearts is instantly awesome =D
The storytelling was unheard-of in the first game. Aslong as this new developer doesn’t ruin that good trait of the first game, and improves everything else, then we’ll be in for a legendary game.
