Playstation 3 owners are always wanting to get some trophy support for their older games, but usually once a couple months pass it is a lost cause. However, not even the Dark Lord Vader could keep them away forever it would seem…
Along with the announcement of a re-release that we reported on earlier there was speculation on a patch for the Playstation 3 that would include trophies to go along with the DLC and Re-Release of the game. It turns out that an official post from the Lucas Arts Games twitter confirms that trophies will be coming to the PS3 version, finally.
“Hmm…so many people asking and nobody responded? PS3′s TFU will be getting trophy support this fall alongside The Ultimate Sith Edition”
Obviously the next question that comes to mind is the all important, “when.” User decimalator asked that very question and a fairly prompt response from Lucas Arts Games said:
“both you early adopters and those who buy the Sith Edition will get trophies right around the same time”
So it would appear that the rumors of the patch coming shortly before the DLC drops could be true. The Sith Edition doesn’t come out until the fall, which is quickly creeping up on us and it seems that it is true the game will ship with trophies on disk while those stuck with the standard edition will have a patch ready for them about the time of the Sith Edition’s release.
Those wondering what trophies will be included can likely look to an Xbox 360 achievement list as games typically mirror each other in trophies and achievements, with the exception of the Platinum trophy. No word though on what trophies/achievements will come with the new Hoth and Tatooine expansions but I would enjoy beating Luke to the ringing of a trophy called “I’m Not Your Father, But I Beat You Like I Am.” You know, or something more clever than that.
