This week’s Store update is certainly a marked improvement over Sony’s previously pitiful offerings over the past few weeks. With 4 new donwloadable games, a demo and a host of downloadable content, there is little to grumble about. My personal pick however goes to the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift expansion pack, featuring some brand new tracks and vehicles to toy with, since it is one of my favourite racing games which has seen little DLC since its launch some 8 months ago. That’s my evening spoken for, then.

Check out the full update in the usual place.

You see that clown? He’s probably crazy. It might have something to do with the fact that Arkham Asylum is, in fact, a house for the criminally insane, but he just looks crazy.

Today, we’ve been given another developer tidbit that helps us piece together the story of Batman: Arkham Asylum. With the hundreds of teaser videos we’ve been given so far, pretty soon someone might be able to doctor a completion video! Hit the jump for the two minute developer video. Read more… »

The summer has gotten in full swing, over on the sunny shores of the UK we had our one day of sun for the year and promptly declared it a heatwave. Glastonbury has come and gone, and I’m sure if I were somewhat cooler I would be able to make a comment about this, referencing someone like Little Shoes, The Yes Yes Yes’s or even Maximum Park, but I’m afraid you’ll just have to use your imagination on this one. Wimbledon is here, and the balls are flying.

I hear this year they have a roof, tennis is serious business.

Just a few hours ago we reported a listing of brand new achievements for Battlefield 1943, thinking that the release date would not be far off. It looks like we were correct in our assumptions. Next Wednesday and Thursday, the battle shall begin anew!

Shooting stuff is the American way, is it not? Now then, don’t go starting a controversy! You know how we Americans love our first person shooters! Wanna know something else that sounds a lot like a gun? Fireworks! So now we have to decide: Will we shoot guns on TV, or shoot fireworks in the real world? Such a hard decision. Wait! Back in 2001, I purchased my very first Playstation 2. A magnificent beast it was, with its Atari like design and blacky-blue aura. From a decent DVD player to a spectacular gaming console, it served me well until the Summer of 2004 when a leaky roof in a dodgy rental combined with electricity to blow it to bits.

It was at that point I learned of the fragility of the device. I quickly went out and purchased one of the limited edition “Platinum” models, which still entertains me with replays of Final Fantasy X and Beyond Good and Evil to this very day. I love my PS2, but I know it is coming, sadly, to the end of its lifespan, suffering from age and drive issues.

Siliconera reports that Sony has patented technology for software emulation of PS2 titles. So now, I beg. Please Sony, save my PS2! (Library)

bf19432

At the very least, Battlefield 1943 will release for Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network within the next two weeks. Rabbid fans are eagerly anticipating any confirmation on the release date, and perhaps this listing of achievements is enough to make them “feel better”.

Assumedly, these Achievements are very similiar to the PS3 Trophies. None of them are all that difficult, just time consuming. Check out the full list after the jump!
