Thanks to a recent interview, Microsoft has given new details on the upcoming Last.fm addition to Xbox Live.
According to Xbox Live general manager Christina DeRosa, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to stream music later this year for free. Silver members “will be able access what we’re considering a trial period of three hours a month, which comes with video advertising.”
DeRosa stated that regardless of Gold or Silver membership, the service will be “ad-supported” unless one buys a “premium” Last.fm subscription. Besides not having to deal with advertisements, the premium subscription also allows “more sophisticated personalization features, like Loved Tracks.”
As of now, there are no details as to how much a “premium” subscription costs, or when we will see Last.fm on Xbox Live.
