hitman1

Hollywood, if you are reading this, you can call off the search for this year’s Oscar winners now. That’s right, a clean sweep is on the cards because, according to IESB.net, Hitman 2 is coming out. Kyle Ward, writer of the upcoming Kane & Lynch, starring Bruce Willis, is penning the sequel, which is hoping to repeat all the brilliance of its predecessor and more.

What’s more, we are also promised Hitman 5 (game). I know! I forgot there were any video games for this franchise too.

Fitness

I have a serious beef with Wii Fit. You see ladies and gents, in days gone by, when people wanted to get back in shape after a few years of excess, they went to the gym.  There I was, pumping the guns, benching twice my own body weight, and ready to impress the hordes of insecure women who came piling through those automatic doors looking to tone up.

When the Wii Fit was unleashed, it meant the Wii Fit girl and all her Wii Fit friends exercised at home.  Meanwhile, the only people who still go to the gym are the Arnie wannabes.  So now, while I am at the gym, I have a lot of time to think, and I was wondering, do game consoles have the potential to make people healthier? damnation

My initial perceptions of Damnation were of a game I would enjoy. A third person shooter? Great, that’s a genre I enjoy. Steampunk? Okay, you’re selling it to me, keep it going. Oh, there’s some good hats. That’s right, if you want a game that offers you a third person shooter in a steampunk setting, with people wearing some nice looking hats, then this is your game. If at any point you have ever wanted more from a game than that, I’m sorry to be the one to break it to you, you may be disappointed.

That’s a ton of characters! Over the years, Dynasty Warriors has given us a ton of stand-alone expansions and sequels, but it wasn’t until the Empires series that we received a ground-breaking change to the core gameplay. Empires has traditionally always tasked you with uniting all of China under your banner in an RPG tactical manner, with traditional action gameplay during battles. This time around, in Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires, you can choose the life of a lowly vassal or mercenary, and go where life takes you (even becoming a ruler yourself if you choose).

Even if you’re not a fan of Dynasty Warriors, some of the information below may intrigue you, so hit the jump for the full press release, and be on the lookout for my full review sometime soon! Read more… »

3dv2

The amount of speculation surrounding this was somewhat overbuzzed, as everyone knew that Project Natal boasts the same concepts that 3DV Systems was showing off only a year or two previous. It’s a no brainier for Microsoft, who bought out their next big money-maker and turned it into Project Natal.

Moshe Lichtman, Microsoft corporate vice president and head of the software giant’s Israeli research and development center, which is its third biggest in the world, confirmed the sale to rally morale after his R & D center was forced to lay off over fifty employees.

army-of-two-the-40th-day3

Guns are an integral part of EA’s Army Of Two franchise, as are the people who buy it.  Fitting then that, for the first game, the company gave the general public the chance to have their own weapon designs featured, which resulted in two guns making the cut.

If you enjoyed that or happened to miss the chance to enter back then, this could be your lucky day, as it’s happening all over again. But is this a great way of attracting gamers, designers and such to the series, or an excuse for the developers to take a two-hour lunch break on Fridays? Hit the jump for more details, then let us know what you’d like to see.

Gears 2 is fixed..again
By: | June 24th, 2009

gears-of-war-

The release of Gears Of War 2 wasn’t exactly smooth. Sure, single player kept most gear heads compelled throughout but, when we begun to sink our teeth into the multiplayer which kept the original Gears on top of Xbox Live charts we were met with long matchmaking times and infuriating weapon glitches. Well after a few patches apparently Gears 2 is being fixed…again.
