In what is becoming a running theme for video games this year, it has now been announced that yet another will be adapted into a movie. Indiana Jones die hards look away now, because Uncharted is reported to be currently in production.

rockbandfeature-1

Rock Band was pretty revolutionary when it came out, because it expanded on Guitar Hero‘s concept and added a full ensemble. Imagine that – here you have a game that people find unfathomably fun, and Rock Band just added a whole new level of enjoyment! So much in fact, that Guitar Hero was quick to follow with its own full-band rythem title, Guitar Hero: World Tour. However, despite the mass of enjoyment they’ve provided to countless households, there’s something very strange about both of these games – for an open stance drummer, Rock Band and Guitar Hero are harder to play than real drumsets.

Relic’s Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series is one of the longest-legged franchises in the whole RTS genre. At this point only Starcraft rivals it for online extensive online longevity. Now, Relic hopes its sequel will achieve the same timelessness. Dawn of War II‘s next major update, impressively titled “There is only War,” will be bringing a boatload of balance changes, bug fixes, and eight shiny new multiplayer maps. Most significant of all, however, is the addition of World Builder, a full-service map maker, allowing devoted Space Marines, Tyranids, Eldar and Orks to construct battlefields to slaughter each other on.

The builder will hit beta in early July, with the update making its glorious debut later this summer. Expect much carnage…and only war.

Capcom’s Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is rapidly approaching its glorious re-release on XBox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network. As they did before with Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo: HD Remix, Capcom is releasing episodic hype trailers.

The first one just came out today, so check it out! My only gripe is the lack of Joe Esposito which was tastefully incorporated into the STHD trailers. Video after the jump!

devil-summoner-2

Back in 2006, Atlus brought us Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army – a real-time combat spin-off of the traditionally turn based Shin Megami Tensei series. Despite mediocre critical response,  Atlus gave the Devil Summoner series another whirl with Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, the direct sequel to The Soulless Army.

While many JRPG developers have long since made their move to HD console development, Atlus continues to dish out their critically-acclaimed MegaTen titles on the PlayStation 2 and proves that the console still has some life left. Atlus made us sing with Persona 3, FES and Persona 4, but will they maintain the harmony with Devil Summoner 2 or will it be another weak entry like its prequel?

Sure, Sony says that people in the UK are willing to shell out the lofty $249 price tag for the PSPgo. Assuming we buy into that optimistic little morsel, Sony may still find themselves without much success in the UK if the retailers don’t stock the system. Read more… »

After last week’s pitiful Store sacrilege, this week’s update is an improvement, but still nothing to write home about. Noteworthy updates include Zuma, a new downloadable puzzle game, and the long-awaited Solstice costume for LittleBigPlanet. This week also marks the second anniversary of Super Stardust HD, which has been slashed down to a mere £1.59 for one week only in celebration.

The full update can be found after the break.

The moment the rumors began that Terminal Reality was developing a video game surrounding the world of the Ghostbusters, the buzz has never quite come to a complete stop. All of the hype surrounding the game began before the original four signed up as voice talent for the game. As you know, it got much worse as soon as as it was found out that Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis were writing the script.

With all of the excitement surrounding the story and high-profile characters, the general public forgot all about the gameplay. That’s quite alright! Terminal Reality stepped into some very large shoes, and they filled them with flying colors…or would that be bright, streaming proton particles?
