Colonization of another planet has always been one of the key themes of science fiction throughout the history of the genre. The interpretation of living on a colonized Mars is a unique one, completely ignoring the fact that oxygen is required to live elsewhere. If you’re willing to put that one major inconsistency aside, you’re in for an awesome ride.

In a feature on Canadian site Maisonneuve, Chris Lavigne noted that the big problem with the studies people are conducting on video games and their psychological impact are fundamentally flawed.
He goes on to say this is due largely to the fact that the eggheads doing the research just don’t “get” video games, citing a recent Dutch study that used Crash Bandicoot and Tekken as their contrasts for “violent” and “non-violent”, a study that any informed gamer would call senseless, and not just for reasons of vested interest. An interesting new addition to the PSN is set to materalise tomorrow in the form of VidZone, a new music video streaming service exclusive to European territories. Once launched, it will arrive pre-packaged with a strong wealth of content, with a reported 10,000 videos available to view. These videos can also be arranged into custom playlists for ease of use.
After a simple download from the Playstation Store, VidZone will sit neatly at the top of the music category within the PS3‘s integral XMB menu. With several major and independent record companies in tow (including Sony BMG, would you believe), VidZone’s seeds are soon to be planted and can only grow from here. Another day, another accidental shooting in America is universally blamed on the violence within video games. In Mississippi yesterday an 11-year-old boy apparently shot dead his 9-year-old brother in a struggle with a 12-gauge shotgun, following a row about a video game.
