Hollywood, if you are reading this, you can call off the search for this year’s Oscar winners now. That’s right, a clean sweep is on the cards because, according to IESB.net, Hitman 2 is coming out. Kyle Ward, writer of the upcoming Kane & Lynch, starring Bruce Willis, is penning the sequel, which is hoping to repeat all the brilliance of its predecessor and more.
What’s more, we are also promised Hitman 5 (game). I know! I forgot there were any video games for this franchise too.
Of course, my tone may be more than a little tongue-in-cheek here, but it is important to note that the first movie – produced by Adrian Askarieh, Daniel Alter and Chuck Gordon, who all return – garnered $100 million at box office alone and provided what even James Bond’s Quantum Of Solace couldn’t: a topless Olga Kurylenko – albeit for no apparent reason whatsoever.
So what about this game? Well, it is supposedly due for release by the end of 2010 and “will take Agent 47 in a whole new direction.” Anybody else getting that Max Payne feeling in their stomach?

It’s true – no one can be bothered to render hair these days. Everyone’s bald and ugly. At least Sam Fisher’s had the common decency to grow a mop.
The first Hitman was great, but hasn’t everyone sort of moved on these days? I only caught a few minutes of the film version – luckily those minutes were filled with the lovely Olga.
all the hitman’s were good in their own ways, and to say that only 1 is good is ignorant… the movie blowed though don’t get me wrong.
No doubt each and every Hitman was a decent title (I only clocked the first one myself), but Agent 47′s become less and less relevant over the years. Maybe this new direction will turn things around.
This is news I have been holding out for, as we haven’t seen a new Hitman game for quite some time. Shame it seems such a long way off.
I haven’t completed Hitman since the first one: I didn’t find them “mind-blowing” – I think 2 was decent from what I remember.
I don’t think the franchise can translate well at all to the silver screen though, because while the gameplay is dynamic, the overall theme/idea is pretty generic.
Still thik Edward norton should play him in the new flick
i just got into the games by blood money thats the one that got me into the hitman
