As we inch closer and closer to the inevitable release of Halo 3: ODST, Microsoft continues their hype train and has announced today that Sergeant Avery Junior Johnson will be available for play to all who pre-order the game before its fall release date. So pick yourself up from that floor mattress, scrub the “I love men” from your forehead, crack a beer and hit the jump! For those of you who don’t remember, or if you’ve been consistently drunk for the past 8 years or so, aren’t familiar with the Halo series, Sgt. Johnson is a hardened career Marine, fighting along side Master Chief in the toughest of battles throughout the trilogy. Although perishing in Halo 3, he will make a triumphant return in ODST’s Firefight cooperative multiplayer mode. Firefight will be a test of one’s longevity as increasingly challenging waves of enemies seek to splatter your blood across the battlefield. Hmm, sounds familiar.
Although we only have news about Sgt. Johnson being playable if you pre-order the game, if we know anything about those money grubbing bastards over at Microsoft, this will not be the case for long. When you pre-order, you’ll a receive a “token” to download the playable character, but methinks we’ll see this “token” available for purchase on its September 22nd release date. Keep your eyes on Gamer Limit for everything Halo 3: ODST.
