The anticipation for Heavy Rain seems to be chopping and changing as much as the weather. Just when things start to reach boiling point, Quantic Dream release a trailer that does nothing but look a little underwhelming when compared with the last. Now, according to the developer’s very own David Cage, we learn the game is far from done.
“We’re still at the alpha stage and there’s a whole lot of work to be done,” Cage told NowGamer.
“There’s so much fine-tuning in the game left to do. Everything has to be perfect. If there’s one thing wrong in a scene, it’s the only thing you’ll see. There are many things that don’t work right now. We need to have everything in place, from facial animations, to score to work out the final result.”
Cage then went on to express his hope that other developers will look to Heavy Rain as a source of inspiration, when it is finally released.
“My greatest hope is that it will be copied… that people will see this as a possibility for this industry.”
“I’m not saying everything would be like that, but for some to say, “Okay, this is a game about emotion, and storytelling for a wider audience.” I want to open the door for other publishers and developers and make them see the opportunities.”
You can’t fault the confidence on display here, but let’s just hope that this game sees the light of day before the world is flooded, ironically, by melting ice caps.

The main character reminds me of that woman from CSI or law and order, or something.
I think your thinking of Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order: SVU.

Oh man. Sad day. I was so excited for this game, and then when it wasn’t at E3, I kinda felt like someone stommped on my nuts a little bit. Oh well, guess I’ll have to keep myself occupied with Indigo Prophecy
Same for me, Austin. Always reminds me of Mariska.
She reminds me of my old boss. I can’t work out if that’s a good thing. It’s probably not.
Suppose something like this has too much chance of falling into ‘uncanny valley’ territory. I’m looking forward to what happens with this one.
Is that a woman in a red dress serving a brew to a pregnant woman who stepped out of the shower in the background?
And what’s with the boarded windows, why am I noticing this stuff? lol
It’s because they are stuffed, and the killer has posed them like that.
