As details of Max Payne’s imminent comeback have slowly treacled out, the first screenshots of the game have finally arisen to indicate how the game will actually look. And to be honest, after Max Payne’s gritty film noir past, it is not exactly what I was expecting, with Payne now sporting John Mclaine’s vest in some decidedly Uncharted and Resident Evil-esque locales. But then as they say, a change can be as good as a rest so I am more than intrigued about this third instalment.

Max Payne 3 is due to be released this October on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

I don’t really like the way he looks but hopefully the game will still be good.
It’s clearly some Brazil’s slum, like Rocinha or Vidigal. I live in Rio de Janeiro, and I can say for sure that’s pretty accurate the way they capture the essence of the landscape. Congrats for them.

The noir style was what made Max Payne so good. Now it looks generic.
