Left 4 Dead 2 just can’t catch a break. Not only are thousands of angry fans boycotting its November release, but apparently the ESRB has also taken a shot – insisting the box art be toned down. How, you ask? By reducing the amount of zombie chewed fingers – thats how.

The modified version includes the previously dismembered ring and pinky fingers, but folds them back to maintain the symbolism of two remaining fingers. Valve pokes fun at the change in the latest L4D Blog post, stating the ESRB “cited some fake-sounding legal loophole about it being illegal to take pictures of people biting off parts of their hands.”
