I wish there were more to write about this, but the teaser site is so blunt, that I’ll just get right to the point. Capcom has put up a teaser site. The entirety of the teaser is showing the number “1650″, then crossing it out and showing the number “1573″ in bigger letters, which also float around mysteriously.

Seriously. I wish I could make up stuff like this.

So, what’s this all about? I’ve come up with two possible answers in my ten-minute research:

1. A reporter at gaygamer.com Points out that 1560 was the year the first Onimusha’s story was set in. Looking into this a bit further, the Onimusha series has pushed past the year 1573, so if this is a new Onimusha game, perhaps it’s a prequel?

2. Capcom’s Sengoku Basara site (a series known here as Devil Kings) has a link to the teaser site at the top that announces something like “Special Site launched!” So, perhaps a new Devil Kings game, huh?

I would guess that more people in the states would be excited for a new Onimusha game before a new Devil Kings game, but I personally think it the evidence is more in favor of Devil Kings. Anyone have a different theory?
