At the Nintendo press conference today in Club Nokia at E3, many surprises were revealed within the last 10 minutes of the conference, overshadowing many other notable titles that should not be forgotten. Square Enix showed extended footage of their upcoming release, Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers, the next installment in their action based RPG series. Hit the jump for some character art and further details
The Crystal Bearers bolsters, for the first time in the series, full voice acting of the player’s characters as well as supporting NPCs. The graphics have taken a turn on the mature side, ridding itself of the quirky, childish aspects that the Crystal Chronicles series is well known for. The trailer seems to be tailored for a more story-driven audience, suggesting that emphasis was placed on plot, rather than multiplayer, this time around.
Taking place 1000 years into the future in the same unnamed world as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, the player will take on the role of Layle, a Clavat crystal bearer that is bestowed a strange gravity-based power. In a future where guns have replaced swords and magic is no longer known, Layle will face a magical adversary thought to have been forgotten in history that holds enormous power, threating life as Layle knows it.

Awesome.
The characters look pretty stock standard at this point…
Yessss!
I really really love this game, but it’s short..
