The handheld games market has been invaded by the iPhone over the past year or so. No longer, it would seem, can gaming companies trust in the quality of a product without attempting to think outside the box, if only just a little.
According to “music industry sources” speaking with CNET.com, Sony could be about to launch a music download service for the PlayStation Portable.
While nothing has been confirmed as yet, the move would make perfect sense, especially when considering Sony are to introduce VidZone , a music video streaming service, this summer.
The PSP is showing much promise this year, with a whole host of titles in the pipeline. These rumors only serve to raise hopes further for the system, which could finally be about to receive the treatment it deserved from the beginning.
