Electronic Arts has become a gaming giant like no other. With multiple AAA titles a year spanning many genres and franchises, they have earned the respect of the gaming community, and of the business world.

We’re all eagerly anticipating titles like Brutal Legend, Fifa 10, and Battlefield 1943 to be showcased, but there is a whole lot more coming from EA than some of us even realize. Actress Annie Potts reprises her role as Janine Melnitz for the upcoming video game Ghostbusters: The Video Game. It is not much more than your typical trailer, however it re-emphasizes the amount of work that has gone into the title regarding bringing back the original cast.

As you’ll recognize in the trailer, Annie Pots does an excellent job bringing back the sass, class, and attitude of Janine Melnitz. When they say, “Who you gonna call?” She is the one to answer.

The highly praised Truama Center franchise is about to get a major facelift. Although Hospital is not intended as a direct sequel, it is going to be a spiritual-successor for those who enjoy virtual surgery.

This title from Atlus will incorporate those gameplay elements, but add so many more to the table. It will follow the story of six hospital staffers, each with a specific medical specialty. Atlus also revealed that there would be two-player cooperative play. Hit the jump for a breakdown of the six staff members.

It is so easy to forget the little guy. As the Xbox 360, Wii, and Playstation 3 all prepare for the ghastly invasion, the little handheld that could is getting ready to chug out its own version of Ghostbusters The Video Game. Bustin will make you feel good, even while you are on the move.

The trailer does not really show a lot of up close gameplay footage, but from what we can make out, it looks pretty nice. Also it is obvious it takes its graphical style from the Wii version of the game.  It’s labeled coming soon, so it will likely not see the same release date as its big brothers. Still not afraid? The sales of Wii Fit are absolutely through the roof, and much more than we ever could have expected. It is no wonder that Nintendo is looking to capitalize on their succsess and create another Wii Fit.

If Nintendo is determined to bring to us a better press conference this year, it will be interesting to see how they balance between the casual and hardcore gaming communities. Or, will they find a way to embrace both?

In fact, they must like it so much that they’ve basically decided to copy the formula that Left 4 Dead brings to the table and announce their newest title.

It is the middle of the week and perhaps you, like the rest of us, need a bit of a pick-me-up to continue trudging through towards a weekend of fun, frolic, and fancy-free. Or perhaps, like me, you needed a diversion from continually trying to upload the LimitCast for your patient listeners consumption even though it’s not working.

Maybe you’re sad that Duke Nukem isn’t forever and you can use this as a coping mechanism. Either way, this is one of the best reviews that Zero Punctuation has put out yet, and deserves a little bit of attention.

How does The Heart of Darkness, Apocalypse Now, and Homefront correlate with one another?

From the modernist writer to the Vietnam War screenwriter to the video game developer, people’s interactions with books, movies, and video games are beginning to take an evolutionary turn.  John Milius, screenwriter for Apocalypse Now, transposed Joseph Conrad’s mind boggling novella, The Heart of Darkness, to the big screen in 1979.  Fast forward thirty years into the future, THQ has recently signed John Milius to write the story for their new video game, Homefront.  THQ’s internal developer, Kaos Studios, is in the beginning stages of  the new first person shooter.

Is the above title the best Wallace and Gromit quote ever?! You decide! Telltale has just published the first episode of their W & G adventure series on the Xbox Live Arcade, entitled Wallace & Gromit Episode 1: Fright of the Bumblebees.

In addition to the Xbox Live Arcade release, Episode 1 and 2 are already available on the PC, with gamepad support. Telltale is offering each episode invidiually at $8.95, as opposed to a previous season bundle deal at $34.95. The next 2 episodes, “Muzzled!”, and “The Boogey Man”, are set for release in June, and July, respectively. As Wallace would say, “I’m just crackers about cheese!”
