Battlefield 1943 takes you back to WWII and throws you into the battlefield across the islands of Wake, Iwo Jima, and Guadalcanal. This new trailer features Pacific warfare in Iwo Jima loaded with ground combat and carpet bomb attacks from fighter planes. Hit the jump to read more and watch the clip.

So far, critics are calling this game “amazing” based on its visuals and use of the Frostbite engine. At first glance, this game looks like a standard retail game but you will be amazed to know that it is actually a downloadable first-person shooter headed for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. The developers over at DICE have put a lot of work into this game, and shooter fans will definitely want to check this out. Check out the newest trailer below!

    Battlefield 1943 is set to be released next month (June 2009) for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The PC version will drop in September 2009.
