Good day. Your resident Killzone 2 lover here to bring you news that the game will be made even better in the coming weeks, with the introduction of ‘Flash And Thunder’, a juicy looking map pack featuring two locations taken from the original Killzone on the PlayStation 2. Hit the jump for more information and a trailer that may or may not involve explosions and gunfire within a gritty environment.
One of the first things that strikes me about the clip is the speech from the Helghan leader, Scolar Visari. If you haven’t heard it before, then you have probably never played the first game. I remember first booting up that disc and being blown away by the quality of the voiceover from Brian Cox and it is lovely to hear it once more (if only in part) here.
The multiplayer maps from Killzone were also thrilling and it is exciting to see Guerrilla returning to their old hunting ground to deliver what should be a great addition to this game. I’m particularly intrigued by the radioactive blast that appears to sweep through the Southern Hills level. This could well add a dimension similar to the jumping between trains from the last map pack. Meanwhile, Beach Head lands you on a beach with water-filled craters and such to jump around in and get shot at. Yeah!
The ‘Flash And Thunder’ map pack will be available for PSN at $5.99 (US) on June 11.
