Following a hugely successful event last year, Eurogamer has today announced that the UK will be treated to a bigger and better expo come this October. Not only is the London venue being upscaled this time around, there will also be a showcase happening in Leeds, meaning players from The North will be able to enjoy an overdose of gaming goodness too.

While Eurogamer Expo attracted a couple of thousand people when it was held in East London in 2008, this year we are promised space for 14,000 between the two new venues – Old Billingsgate in London and Royal Armouries in Leeds – with opportunities to not only play video games but buy them too, courtesy of main sponsor HMV. There is also a careers fair for anybody hoping to get hired within the industry.

Personally, I am thrilled to bits that Eurogamer Expo is returning mightier than last year. I was lucky enough to attend back then and got my hands on the likes of Killzone 2, Street Fighter IV, Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, Resident Evil 5, Mirror’s Edge, Gears Of War 2 and Left 4 Dead – all of which pre-release, of course. It’s a credit to its success that it has been expanded, adding yet another great opportunity for gamers in the UK to feel part of something big.

Are you going this year? Did you attend last year? Head over to our forums and discuss.

  1. I might go to the London event. Last year was great fun. I volunteered to help out and got loads of free games afterwards!

  2. I’ll be at the London event, with bells on and a notebook so I can write up a report.

    Who needs E3?! haha

  3. Now who’s jealous?!

  4. Hmm partnered with HMV, guess they’re moving up in the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if gaming forums and “developer corners” have a good drop off in flame posts the week this event is going on. (everyone knows Eurotrash forum trolls only flame from their lairs) :P
