star fox 1 Star Fox Routes 1, 2, and 3 to Bypass the Wii

There’s always the chance that someone else might step in, but in a recent interview with G4’s The Feed, Star Fox and Star Fox Command developer Dylan Cuthbert torpedoed (nova-bombed?) any hopes that his handiwork might find its way to Nintendo’s current gen console.

Predicting a likely development team of one hundred or more for such a project, Cuthbert expressed in no uncertain terms his disinterest in the prospect of helming a Star Fox title for the Wii, although he (somewhat jocularly) allowed that he might consider revisiting the series ‘in another 10 years’.

He commented further that the Wii remote would probably be ‘a bit too hard to use’, and when queried about the possibility of utlizing the Motion Plus add-on, replied: ‘Yeah.  Maybe that’d be more fun to play with.  I don’t know.  The Wii is a bit more of a toy, I think.’

  1. That’s a shame – but I agree, to a point. Even with the WiiMotion Plus, I don’t think many people are comfortable using the WiiMote like they would a traditional steering wheel or joystick, which is why, IMO at least, racing and similar games just don’t work on Wii.

I wonder what it would have been like. Probably just as well that Star Fox skips the Wii

    Furry header!

I haven’t enjoyed a Star Fox since 64. In fact, that’s all you really need.
