
In March, shareholders of the UK game developer Eidos approved Square Enix’s GBP 84.3 million (US $123.7 million) acquisition bid of the company. 85% of shareholders comprising 99.92% of the shares represented voted in favour of the acquisition. All that was required to make the takeover complete was court approval.
According to gamesindustry.biz, a court has approved the take over bid and Eidos will officially become part of Square Enix on 22 April 09. As of 23 April 09 at 0800 Eidos will no longer be listed by the UK Listing Authority.
