One of the boldest, brightest and downright greatest games this generation has, apparently, been a very busy little (Sack)boy over the past four months. According to a press release from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet has played host to 725,000 user-generated levels.
What’s more, Sony also claim that the game has been played more than 125 million times, with over four million feedback comments appearing since its release in November 2008. Not bad, particularly when considering its availability is restricted to just the PlayStation 3.
These staggering figures will no doubt encourage Media Molecule to carry on working with Sony to produce DLC packs for the title, extending its lifespan even further. Meanwhile, those yet to experience the pure joy of swinging by a friend’s ankles over deadly hot coals will find little reason to resist its charms any longer, their reservations about quality and/or value being shattered by the simple fact that there is something for everyone in LittleBigPlanet.

Good to hear the game is going well. Some of the best same-room multiplayer fun I’ve had in ages. This game oozes charm and great-to-be-a-kid-again style fun and frolicking.
