Gamer Limit Banner

The PSP has become a very versatile platform with both UMD, and downloadable titles. Perhaps this will be taken a step further, as the fine folks over at Arstechnica are reporting that the Patapon 2 retail release will contain a voucher for a code that will allow you to download the game via the Internet.

The rumor, which they believe will become fact before long, also says that you will be able to buy the game via the Playstation Network for only $14.99. The retail release of Patapon 2 will still have a MSRP of $19.99. Sony made a comment stating “Regarding digital distribution for Patapon 2, nothing’s been announced on our end.”

  1. I have a theory that the PSP2 will be all download, no UMD.

  2. Will be interesting to see how it goes if it is, see how many comments of “I want the box” and the like stand firm when it is a reality.

  3. This is a step in the right direction. Think about how much cooler your DS would be if you didn’t have to limit yourself to whatever is in the thing’s slot or having cartridges floating around in your pockets. Could make the thing smaller and have better battery life.
