While the idea of being able to demolish everything in one’s path is, undoubtedly, a tantalising prospect for an excitable gamer like myself, the way in which it is implemented within a game will always go a long way to either making or breaking the overall experience. THQ’s Red Faction: Guerrilla is a title that boasts such capabilities in abundance, but the question is: Can it travel beyond what is quickly becoming its main selling point? This demo, treating us to an entire mission’s worth of game play, gives us a fair idea as to what we can expect when the game releases in June.

This year shall be the year of software, or so many people say. With all three consoles at least two years into their cycles, a lot of information about the games we’ll being playing on them will come out of E3 this year. Each of the big three console makers are marking their territory and are all claiming that they’re going to kick some serious ass this year. Check out what each of them had to say in their ESA press releases. By the way, did you know GamerLimit is sending five journalists to E3 this year?

We all waited for Capcom to finally announce the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for XBLA and the PSN.  Now that the wait is over, they have unveiled what the new MvsC2 is going to offer, and Sony’s official Playstation blog had a surprise up it’s sleeve.   PS3 owners in North America will be able to download the demo on April 30th, with UK owners given access shortly after.

That’s right, this Thursday you can finally curb that 2D fighting appetite.

Back in 2005, in the midst of a stormy Thanksgiving break, I came to a decision.  For weeks I’d seriously contemplated the purchase of a PSP, weighing the appurtenant merits and demerits of such a (for me) hefty expenditure, and in the end I came down on the side of indulgence; practicality and common sense, far less gratifying, were peremptorily shown the door.

For, the handheld’s immediate appeal lay less in its then-meager library than in that same, nigh on irresistible charm to which so many new gadgets lay claim: it was just so damned neat.  I had precious little genuine need for a portable gaming platform, and its lineup back then hadn’t even begun to show the promise that it’s fulfilled in the years since – it was simply that the thing was too cool not to buy.

It seems from October through December there are so many AAA games that hit the shelves that we can hardly keep up with reporting, and reviewing them. I can hardly afford to buy everything that comes out durring those times, and I end up getting left behind. Well it looks like Microsoft is going to start setting the standard, and push towards major releases year-round.

I was spending the day out of town when I came across a gamestop that I have never been in before.  Being a frugal shopper, I decided to take a gander into their bargain bin.  Hovering over the countless array of Madden and Grand Theft Auto titles I carefully perused the selection until my eyes picked apart every spine and price tag.  As I was getting up to leave I noticed a familiar name and lettering on one of the cases.  Pulling the game out I realized my eyes were not fooling me, and I was holding a copy of Maximo: Ghosts to Glory for a mere $2.99. EA have released some new screenshots for Dead Space Extraction, the game that is set to bring the joys of destroying horribly disfigured enemies limb by limb… by limb to the Nintendo Wii later this this year. Unlike the first game in the series, which didn’t make it to the Wii, Extraction is a first-person, on-rails shooter. Whether it will live up to its predecessor remains to be seen, although, judging by these, it is certainly looks the part.

The intro movie to Killzone 2 is simply amazing the first time you watch it.  The charismatic speech from Emperor Visari booms through your television speakers as you feast your eyes on the glorious visuals of the game.  However, once you’ve seen the intro you’ll surely skip it every time following.  That is, unless you recently downloaded a update for the Killzone 2 which forces you to sit and watch it.
