You might have noticed things have been a little light on the content side at present over the past few days.

Gamer Limit has been going under the knife over the past month, as you might have noticed with a few small interface changes.

We’re currently on the cusp of completing a bit of a refresh, re-designing the site to better accomodate and display our articles, our upcoming (exciting!) additions to user created content as well as developing a fresh design overall.

We apologize for the delay, but a better site sits on the other side! We’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming over the next few days.

Skies of Arcadia made waves when it first came out on the Sega Dreamcast. Unfortunately, I got a Dreamcast long after the fact, and never got to see what the hubbub was about. Even when it got re-released for Gamecube, it took me a long time to finally nab the game. Developed by Overworks, the Sega development team that made the old Phantasy Star games, Skies of Arcadia Legends was of course going to be an old-school experience.

Thankfully, like most of the old Phantasy Star games, it was right on target. I offer this: That Skies of Arcadia, even with its problems, is the best traditional turn-based RPG to date. Read more… »

Square-Enix shocked the world when an exclusive demo of FFXIII was packaged in the Japanese “Complete” release of Advent Children. Originally it was thought that this would be a “Japan Only” for quite some time, but now there’s talk of a possible North American release.

Squeenix said that it would include an “Exclusive preview of Final Fantasy XIII” in copies of Advent Children in North America. Speculation has ran wild on whether or not it’s an actual demo, or just more exclusive videos. Should we get our hopes up? Read more… »

Another Friday here at the Gamer Limit offices means that Colin lets us off our leashes and lets us play what we want to. There’s quite a variety of games on video for those who are looking for them. Most of the AAA titles are currently behind us, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t games that don’t deserve some of our attention. Whether you’re playing Guitar Hero: Metallica or making a getaway in the Wheelman, let us know what’s up with you this weekend. Read more… »

Crash Bandicoot, or “Crash” is an Eastern Barred Bandicoot, and the main protagonist of the Crash Bandicoot series. He lives quite a peaceful life on a three-chain island just south-east of Australia. Unfortunately his quiet days are often interrupted by Dr. Neo Cortex, and he has to regularly defeat him to put his life back in order. You really have to feel sorry for the guy, all he wants is to sit around doing nothing, but he isn’t left alone.

Killzone 2 passes the 1M mark

killzone-2-2

SCEA has just confirmed that the Playstation 3 exclusive, Killzone 2, has just sold over 1 million copies worldwide, making it “the biggest initial success at retail of any first-party PS3 title to date.”

It’s taken Killzone 2 almost seven weeks to reach this milestone. It depends entirely on you as to how big of an achievement this is. Super Smash Bros. Brawl only took one week to reach what took Killzone 2 seven. In comparison, Gears of War 2 sold twice that amount in its first week. However, 1 million copies is nothing to ignore— at $60 dollars a pop, one can only imagine how much money Sony made off with. Read more… »

If you didn’t know yet, Gamer Limit will be attending E3 this year!

The full E3 list of attendees for 2009 has been announced and, after last year’s subdued affair, let’s hope this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo will be back to its usual exuberant self. ghostbusters

The box art for the PS3, Wii and 360 versions of Ghostbusters has been unleashed from its ghost-trap.  Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and the other guy-err… Ernie Hudson are present in all their bustin’-makes-them-feel-good glory.  The portrayals of the actors look strikingly similarly to their real life counterparts, though perhaps a couple decades younger.  Click continue for more pictures.
